yours in love,
It's pretty amazing that we have over 40 books in common. Must be something about our first name or both being from New England.
Please check out my thriller, "Splattered Blood" based on your reading choices, I think you'd like it.
It came out last year and has had excellent reviews. I'm happy that it's on the mystery and thriller bookshelf.
Thanks, Michael. :-) I try, but can only do so much on my own - that is, without anyone else replying and such.
I am happy to have found an active Canadian group over on LT. (A lot of the same topics posted, but people actually reply!!!!!) I still prefer shelfari to LT and definitely prefer the group format here, but when no one wants to join in the conversations, it's just nice to have found someplace else to have those conversations. I will keep trying with the group here, too, but I doubt much will change.
Oh, I believe the book that won the Giller is also a book of short stories. I've not read anything by her. To be honest, I've not read anything by Alice Munro either! I'm also not a big short story fan, but I do intend to read Munro's one novel at some point.
Hi! I was just checking to see if you were still in the Canada group. I see you are, but you've also discovered how s...l...o...w... the group is.
I'm also over at LibraryThing and have been checking out groups over there. I found this one group over there where the challenge is to read a book set in each province. I remember your question at one time about books set in each province. There is a separate thread for each (and territory, too), so I thought I'd send you the link if you wanted to take a look. I don't know if you're over at LT or not, but hopefully you can still peruse through the group if you're interested. Enjoy! :-)

Thank you for your kind reply. Kafka's private life was just as fascinating as his stories. I recommend his biography. As for the situation, i am trying to make the best of it. I can recommend you only one contemporary poet. His name is Michael Guse, (on my shelf). Otherwise the old poets such as Blake and Poe are also good to the palate of the mind. Michael, I live by the countryside, by woods and fields. The other day i saw a deer on the way home. We stared at each other for a long minute. It was not afraid of me. It was curious. Then it slowly disappeared into the woods. It was marvelous. The beauty of Denmark just as its chastity lies in the countryside. If you are around some day and i still own this house, feel free to join me for a chat about Kafka. Did you know that he ordered his friend to destroy all of his personal writings after he died? His friend kept it, and now a museum bought it. Some people made a lot of money on his account. I understand the need to preserve his works, but in principle they all disrespected Kafka's humble wish. What do you suppose was right?
A new group has been launched, Michael ~ we are looking
forward to your input!
