For non-fiction books I’m highly interested in politics, history, economics, philosophy and science. As for fiction books I like general sci-fi and fantasy, but especially enjoy dystopian and cyberpunk works. I always want to know more.

Hi Alpha - Welcome to the History Non-Fiction Group. I'm the Admin for the group and am interested in what our members would like to get out of this group. If you haven't already done so, please introduce yourself in our "Welcome and Introduction" thread and tell us what your interests are. The group is currently reading The Linguist and the Emperor: Napoleon and Champollion's Quest to Decipher the Rosetta Stone by Daniel Meyerson for the Jul-Sep quarter. This book discusses the two men whose lives intersected over a love of all things Egypt and led to Champollion solving the mystery of the language on the Rosetta Stone. The discussion thread will be posted on 18 September, so depending on how fast you read, it's not too late to join in with the group. The book is fairly short - only 271 pages including the Author's Note at the end - and easy to read so it's a good book for the first ever quarterly read. Please join us if you've got the time. Additionally, we are now taking nominations for the next quarter group read (Oct-Dec) so please feel free to nominate something you'd like to read as a group. Again, glad to have you with us.
