Personally, I thought this was simply awful. I understand Rhys is writing in a contemporary style and responding to the novel "Jane Eyre" but I've read novels that are done in a fragmented style and they are usually quite good. This just seemed to be an assortment of ramblings featuring horrible characters and a pathetic protagonist who garnered little to no sympathy from the reader.

I read this right after "Jane Eyre" in my English class and was looking forward to it. The premise is quite good, I like the idea of a silent character being reborn and being allowed to tell her own story but I just didn't like this. I know there are lots of people who enjoy this novel but I really didn't. I did like the symbolism and themes that emerged throughout the novel and found them interesting, but the novel as a whole? Wouldn't touch it again.

On my edition of the book, "Time" is quoted on the cover with just one word: Sparkling. And I think that word sums up "Arabella" perfectly; it really does sparkle with pure wit and life. I loved it!

Damn, I thought this one had a lot of potential and the first half of the book was brilliant; it was engrossing, creative and very original. The second half quickly descended into a giant convoluted mess that was difficult to wade through.

I also developed a fondness for Cole and was fine with him being our main man until Tarik was brought in. It just didn't seem believable that Kady would be able to love him so quickly when he'd only been around for the latter half of the book.

It's such a shame since Jude Deveraux is absolutely masterful when it comes to the detail she puts in her characters and settings but this was just too rushed. I've read A Knight in Shining Armor--and adored it--and I've read Remembrance, which is also very good. She's still a very talented author in my mind.

I thought this was simply awful. I suppose she was trying to make a profound statement or just say something mildly poignant but she failed spectacularly. The sexual aspects didn't help and just made the whole thing bizarre and disturbing. She seemed to be going for something quirky yet introspective but she seriously missed her mark, which is a shame because the title was so intriguing. :/

Ahh, I loved this. It didn't seem like my cup of tea at first but I quickly fell completely in love with how the author writes, it does make one long for a bit of magic. Hard to put down and ultimately a sweet and satisfying novel.

I thought this was hilarious! More than a few parts where I burst out laughing, and this happened usually at bus stops or on the train. I don't advise reading this in public unless you're the sort who doesn't care about people warily staring as you giggle to yourself. Honest and to the point, he replies on stereotypes but it's for entertainment and it didn't really bother me. Definitely got me wanting to grab a bag, run out the door and hop on a train.

Wow, I think I giggled throughout this whole book. Pretty sure people on the train were giving me weird looks. It's just so funny! And I love the characters! Annabel is so sweet (I love the fact that she's a gorgeous, curvy woman and not a stick), and I can't express how much I love Sebastian. I thought this was witty and charming, just like all of JQ's books but really, they never get old.

I thought it was really sweet and lighthearted. All of the characters are really nicely developed and so endearing. Although I would get irritated with Mac simply because it seemed like she was finding excuses all the time to keep her from being happy and it was frustrating as a reader but eh, it works out in the end. Also, I adored Carter! :]
