Have you heard of 1940's Chinese writer Eileen Chang? From your book list I think you'd like her stories. She was a brilliant woman writer while still in her twenties, and is one of the most highly regarded writers posthumously in contemporary China.

Oh man! I just mailed out both of my Ken Follet books!! I could've given them to you! I read them end of last school year...they were addicting. I would just sit and read every chance I could! After you read Pillars of the Earth, read World Without End...it's about the descendants of characters in the first one.

Did The Road creep you out? I couldn't take it - I think it was the little boy that made me nervous - I don't do well with kids in danger type shows and stuff.
