Thank you so much for the recommendation of "Revolution"! Just finished it last night - stayed up late in order to do so - and loved it! It was fascinating to read it at the same time the revolution is happening in Libya - the parallels between Gaddafi and the French royal family was eerie. My friend Sue and I decided on this book for our book club based on your recommendation, so I'm looking forward to conversations with her about it. Thanks again!
I should have mentioned "State of Wonder" by Ann Patchett. That's a really good book I just read with a friend for our informal, 2-person book club. I love Ann Patchett's work - her books "Bel Canto" and "Run" are wonderful. Similar to Anita Shreve I think. Thanks for the "Revolution" recommendation!
Saw that you read Three Cups of Tea - have you read Three Cups of Deceit by Krakauer about Greg Mortenson and the mismanagement of funds with his organization? It's disappointing to read, especially if you've read TCOT. Entirely believable, however.
I have it as a PDF I can email you if you want. It's about 89 pages.
