I am both a reader and a bibliophile. I love books. I love reading them, holding them, reading about them and discussing them. I read literary fiction, mostly historical fiction, and some history as well. My favorite author is Jose Saramago, with Patrick White a close second. My other favorites include Gabriel Garcia Marquez, Salman Rushdie, William Trevor, Faulkner, Mahfouz, Eudora Welty, Flannery O'Conner, Colm Toibin and Ian McEwan. I find I am usually happy with the Booker shortlisted authors.
I work for the "welfare department" in Cleveland. I am married with 3 grown children, a teenage son, and 3 granddaughters. I am fortunate to have my parents within walking distance as well. « less
