Right now I'm reading Miss Marple the Complete Short Stories and their really good I'm not sure if their what your looking for but I am enjoying them.
Hi - This is Alyssa's brother Jake. I read the whole series. Alyssa didn't get through the whole thing - too dark for her. I found the first books slow too but I'd suggest to keep going. Around book 5 it all starts coming together - more intense and enjoyable. Hope that helps!
