“I received this book as a gift during Nurses Week. I ended up reading the whole book in one sitting. The author, Marcus Engel, was in a terrible car accident at the age of 18 that left him permanently blind. He ended up spending months in a hospital needing multiple surgeries and weeks of rehabilitation. This book presents some candid observations of interactions he had with different members of the medical staff and how their words and actions effected him either positively or negatively. There were many good lessons learned that can be put into use not only if you work in the medical field, but in other cases where you might find yourself a caregiver. ”
