My Mom, sisters and I had a wonderful trip. It was good for Mom and she did well. We got to meet six of her first cousins, all in their 80's and drive past the homesteads where her Mom and Dad grew up in rural northwestern Virginia. We also visited the cemetery where so much family is buried and the church where my grandma attended while growing up. The mountains are so beautiful. I miss them. I'm so sorry to hear about your Mom's misfortune. I hope she is healing well and gets better quick. Sounds like you enjoy you nieces/nephews. That's great. Take care and keep in touch. Connie
Hey Nysh, Good to hear from you. I'm not familiar with the Secrets? And yes, I have read the LOTR. It was some time ago though. I really enjoyed them. Have you read Watership Down? That is a good fantasy, too. I read it a loooonnnngg time ago. So are you married? Any family? How is the book cafe coming? My sisters and I are taking my Mom on a trip this week to Virginia. That is where her family is from. She is 84 and wants to visit one more time. Looking forward to a fun time.
I have posted alot of the books I have read in the past couple years. Have a look. Interesting that you want to open a book cafe. That sounds wonderful. You sound like an interesting person. I used to own a real estate appraisal business with two other gals. Have you read the Alchemist yet? Interesting, but not one of my favorites. Connie
Hi Nysh, My week has been great so far. The month of July was quite busy, so I am enjoying a more relaxing time right now. And I am grateful. As always, I enjoyed Unaccustomed Earth. I just enjoy her writing style. I think I liked her first book a little better (Interpreter of Maladies), but this was good, too. I just read a couple books that you might be interested in: "The Piano Tuner" and "The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society". Check them out. Great reads. "Three Cups of Tea" is also a moving book.
