I'm having a drawing for a free, autographed, softcover copy of my book on my website at www.carlafoft.com, so please tell everyone you know and enter yourself! Remember, even if a friend wins it, you can always borrow it to read. So get as many people as you know to enter!
Thanks for adding my book to your list. Given your interests, you will probably enjoy it. I have done a lot of adventures, as you know from my website. I am always looking for something new. However, kayaking sounds a little too difficult for me. I talk to one person who is very athletic and he said he had a lot of trouble with that. I'm not good at sports, hence I tend to do things where someone else is in control. For instance, when I went sky-diving, I jumped tandem.
Yellowstone is still somewhat crowded in the winter, but much better than summer. It looks compeltely different under several feet of snow. It was totally awesome and an experience that I'll never forget. I have been there several times in the summer as well because I have family who live in Wyoming.
I have been in about 35 to 40 states, but have lost track now. I have also been to 8 foreign countries. However my European experiences were in 1978, so it has been awhile now.
Stay in touch and let me know what you think about the book as well.
Well, thanks for checking mine out. It is much like Doss, except without the Native American culture. It is more the daily life of a single mom, interrupted by ghosts.
Any way, if you've ever been to Mesa Verde, you are probably familiar with the Durango, CO area. I set the last portion of my book there, but didn't reference Mesa Verde.
Where have you traveled to?
I just finished "The Shaman's Game" by James D Doss and you popped up as having read it also. I see that you have also read Aimee and David Thurlo. I bet if I looked at your whole shelf, I'd see some Hillerman as well. I suppose all of this comes from/contributes to your interest in Native American Culture that you intend to study. I'm originally from New Mexico and have been to Mesa Verde in Colorado many times. Have you had a chance to go there in any of your travels?
Well I don't think it's a bad idea, but I won't make it a priority. I know some of the books on my amazon wish list are books I haven't read yet so it would make sense to also have them here. I do want to use this to keep track of all the books I want to read.
Well right now these are books that I just want to read. I'll go through and see if any are a want to own as well. I do however have a pretty extensive wish list on Amazon....I suppose I could move those over to here as I want to read them as well :O).
