I am back to the world of books after a long vacation from it (from books, not a vacation in general... unless you count coding databases vacation.. ).
I am currently putting on my beloved fiction on hold and entering the world of poetry, philosophy, religion and politics. I am interested in your recommendation in these topics. So drop me a note!
I have the worst reading habit. I tend to start about 8-10 books at the same time, in different genres, different subjects, and different languages (I read about 4). Then, I pick up the book with the genre and subject I feel like reading at that very moment and alternate. Eventually I get through all of them, but most likely than not, I start more new ones before I finish old ones. So sometimes I have up to 15 half-read books at my bedside. br/ br/ I have a profound obsession for postmodern literature, especially Japanese ones. Haruki Murakami, Junichiro Tanizaki, Abe Kobo to name a few. The lyrical writing of Murakami s appreciation of the ordinary beauty in particular sooth my soul.
In terms of non-fiction, film, arts, psychology, philosophy, religion, linguistic, semiotic, etc... are some of my favorite subjects to read.
