Like everyone on Shelfari, I love reading during my spare time. I always have a large pile of books just waiting to be read. I always have more at least two titles being read at a time.

For a while I only featured my absolute favorite kids books on my shelf. Now, I'm adding any childrens books I read (or remember reading in the past)...more »

Add your cookbooks, because they DO count. I did give some thought to this before the challenge started... actually for cookbooks and craft books. When I buy a new cookbook or knitting book, I definitely go through it to see what I've got and what I can use. Maybe I don't read every ingredient or every knit and purl instruction, but I have often made the comment that I can read a cookbook or new knitting book like a novel. I think most people who buy those kinds of books do the same, so it seems to me they should be included. I would draw the line at counting a re-reading of the book just because the reader decided to cook something from the book or make one of the craft projects, but on the first time through? Yep... it counts. And btw, this is a really good question. Thanks for asking :)

Oh my gosh, it is sooo wonderful to hear from you! I won't lie and say you weren't missed. You were! I know that PBT is quite fast moving and overwhelming so I'm sympathetic, but I'm so happy to hear from you. It's a zoo. I think that when the group messaging here gets better, PBT will be much improved, but who knows when that will be. I keep my fingers crossed that there will be improvements.

You are soooo KIND to want to do your shopping through the store. THANK YOU!!! Every little bit will help and all the proceeds will be funnelled right back into PBT prizes. I've been funding the prizes so far, and it's getting a little bit pricey :). This will be a huge help.

If you go to the store and can't find what you want, but know Amazon carries it, please let me know! I can add many items to the store and will do so upon request. I'm just not sure what folks want in there yet.

    Many, many thanks :).

    Anita

p.s. where are you mostly hanging out on Shelfari these days? I just miss seeing you around . . .I need to pop by where you are from time to time.

I was just looking at my older notes and realized I never replied to yours. Settlers as also the first non-North American game I really got into. I forgot about Carcasonne, but that's another one I like! Arkham Horror is a bit different - it's more cooperative. All the players are working together to fight the larger entity/monster. It is based on H.P. Lovecraft's horror novels. I believe it was the people who made Ticket to Ride who made Arkham as well.

The two you've just mentioned (Monster Mayhem and Lost Cities) I haven't heard of. I guess I don't play as much as I used to since my ex-boyfriend and I split up. He was the one - along with a bunch of his friends - who kept current on the newer games coming out.

Yup I only like the Happily Ever After Part. Just finished up Bella & Edward's story in my opinion. The first 3 were much better. Now they have Edward's side of twilight that was supposed to come out sometime after the movie. She only had like 12 chapters or so done so far. Then they got leaked out to the Internet. Did you know that? I have not read them myself. She posts about it on her website under the "midnight sun" label. Then she cleaned up a bunch of stuff that was unedited and made those 12 chapters available to us to read from her instead of the messy 12 chapters that were leaked. Crazy huh?

Oh yea I started a blog a week a go. Come check it out. Lemme know HONESTLY what you think.

Hi. It was your user name that brought me over here, but I read your information above and am wondering what board games you play? Since you are on boardgamegeek, I am thinking it's more than the usual North American games? Settlers of Catan seems pretty popular with a lot of people now, but some of my other favourites are Puerto Rico, Ticket to Ride, and Arkham Horror.

That is so funny they say you can't go again to a cubs game. HAHAHA
Yup Breaking Dawn took me a bit to read also. Only because it is not what I expected. lol That and I was having a bad week that week. I like that it ties up the whole story. That is all I will say. I hate to give spoilers I never do. Although my kids beg me all the time for spoilers to books and movies. I'm so strict about it that they tease they will find out what their Christmas presents are. I say fine find out. No problem but the minute I know they know...I return them. I am serious about that too. It spoils all the fun of me giving them the gift to see them happy about it or not sometimes is the case. LOL Ok. TTYL

I can't stand Bella! HOw ignorant can a protagonist be? I clearly saw what was happening way before she ever does! I'm not sure I'm going to continue reading them. I've been told to for sure Read Eclipse, but now I'm reading that Breaking Dawn is terrible. Just tell me who she ends up with, but the only surprise would be if she didn't end up with Edward!!

I am halfway through the Uglies. I'm only on chapter 2 of twilight. I'm actually prefering the writing style of Twilight. Uglies is written at a little lower level, IMO. It is getting interesting though,.
