I think I started reading books when I was six, my parents bought me loads of Enid Blyton's stories - The Famous Five, Mallory Towers, Hardy Boys. They also bough me local fairy tales and I moved up to heavier stuff by the time I got to secondary school. Nowadays, I alternate fiction and non-fiction books according to my moods. I especially like books written by journalists about their accounts covering assignments (Kate Adie, Anderson Cooper, etc) and coffee table books with lovely photos of places and people. « less
