Wow. The story of the Capt. Kurt Carlsen is amazing. His experience and training paid off tremendously. I admire the way he prioritized without panic. The author does a good job of explaining the details of the events without getting bogged down with information that a land-lover wouldn't understand.

The first time I read this I was on a overnight train going accross Spain. I could not stop reading. It makes me realized there is hope even for those that don't want hope.

Crystal does a great job introducing you to his father and the role of his extended family. His description of the weight of death was very familiar, and the feeling of hope was encouraging. I would like to think that Crystal considers this the best work he's ever done. I would like to see the live show.
