I am Nook. This is pronounced like "nuke." I like books, but I don't get to read as much as I'd like to. This is generally because I have no idea what to read. I'm hoping I'll get some advice from Shelfari on this matter.

I'm looking forward to increasing my reading!

I did not care much for the first book in this series, and the second was just "ok," but I feel that it has become quite good at this point. It's definitely worth a try.

I loved the Ender series. The shadow series was not as good in my opinion, but still well worth reading. This one fell flat. It lacked the charm of the rest of the series and seemed incomplete. It was obviously building up to something else, but I would have liked to have seen more energy given to this.

This was just ok. It had my interest at moments, but I feel as though the story was too focused on the elemental powers that the characters all had. It's worth reading, but there are plenty of better books out there. If you're looking to read a fantastic series by the same author, check out The Dresden Files. The magic is much better portrayed.

Looking for Alaska begins like a typical book about a teen who seeks to find meaning and identity in his own life. He makes friends and gets into trouble with them. The book takes a surprising turn around the middle and begins to address deep life question. I would highly recommend reading this. Just make sure you give it a chance if you find any of it tedious. It pays off by the end.

The beginning of "The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo" was interesting and got my attention right away. Watching the mystery unfold was thrilling, but I found myself disappointed with the result. It took several unexpected turns that I did not find very satisfying. It's probably worth a read, but I don't think I'll be re-reading this any time soon.

This was a fascinating story of the life of Steve Jobs. If you're not interested in the life of Jobs, there is still plenty here to interest you. It gives an in depth account of the development of modern computers.
