“cute, as such things go. somewhat better written than the other vampire who falls in love with his dinner, but nothing new added to the genre.”
“dark.”
“it's gorgeous.”
“The Anita Blake series seems to be getting increasingly slim in ideas or even a plot, but rather an excuse for orgiastic couplings with multiple partners and big on two penny psychoanalysis. ”
“am reading this again!”
“overdosing on Asterix. ”
“too slow. ”
“Never thought I'd end up saying this, but the finale to the Twilight saga is fucking brilliant. The only disappointment was reading the three gag-worthy prequels to this book. ”
“in a word, grisly. ”
“I usually enjoy everything by Neil Gaiman, but this felt a little too esoteric for my standards. The resemblance of Timothy Hunter to the yet-unconcieved-of Harry Potter induced vertigo. There is no plot to speak of but it would probably help to remember that this is an introduction and there is a lot more to the series ahead. It still makes 4 stars because of the brilliant artwork. ”
