I'm 27, living in England. I always loved reading as a child, but kind of grew out of it as I got older and studying and work got in the way. I have recently discovered my passion for reading again, and really hope it sticks this time.

I'm on Bookmooch, where I give most of the books I read away for free -... more »

Thanks for the compliment Naomi. Yes, as a librarian I do like to have an eclectic mix, both of books and of readers, both as friends. Thanks for being a friend here for me. :-)[br/]I have different favourites for different moods, but these include Wendell Berry's Jayber Crow, Margaret Atwood's Oryx and Crake, KS Robinson's Galileo's Dream, Kurt Vonnegut's Slaughterhouse Five, and Neil Gaiman's Good Omens, to name a few. I did also love Flowers for Algernon and hope you do too. It's been some years since I read that, but it is very compelling.[br/]thanks again, good to see you here Naomi,[br/]happy reading,[br/]Jay

Im reading the book thief right now and i think its really interesting how the author chose to have a different type of narrator. Im only a fourth of the way through it at the moment because as you can tell i get pulled into many books at once! Ive added Pride and Pregidice and Zombies to my christmas list this year actually! it looks pretty good!

Hm... what couldn't i recommend.. Really anything on my shelf i would suggest since I'm not one to finish books if i think their boring or badly written. One of my all time favorite books though is The Secret Life of Bees which i listened to over audio book.

Heya, I loved Angels and Demons. Excellent, or more because I had travelled to most of those places and sights described in the book just a few months before I read it. I highly recommend it if you're into mysteries and thrillers. The move is out, haven't seen it yet. Hopefully it is as good as the book. Will let you know if I get to it before you.

Welcome to 1001 books. You can keep track of the books you have read from the book, 1001 Books You Must Read Before You Die here and join in the discussions on the books we are reading for the month (from the book) or you can argue the merits of the list as some enjoy doing. We hope you will want to join in our discussions. The current books are at the top of the list for that month. If there is any way I can answer your questions about the group or about Shelfari, let me know.
If you don’t own the book the list can be found http://www.listology.com/content_show.cfm?content_id=22845
