Thank you very much. Actually over the years I've read a lot more books than you can currently see on my "virtual shelf" but I just don't consider them important enough to add them. De Sade's novels (the ones i have read recently) are there mostly due to a personal psychological study regarding sexuality as romanticism is not one of my favorite literary currents. Also I've this intrinsic attraction towards deviance and defiance so that's another reason...:)

Yes, I loved Calvino, but it's more of an old flame love than anything present. If I remember correctly, Winters Night was quite experimental, every chapter starting with the same sentence, or the previous chapter's last sentence - something on those lines.. He's a little like Borges if you like him, and I do, and he has fun with the act of writing which is refreshing. Here's more Ian McEwan than J Grisham - more style over substance, if that makes sense. Kind of healthy food reading, something you might want to read after a few pulpy novels. (Not criticising pulp in anyway here, they're an important part of the diet).
Anyway, that's what I think. It's a short read I think, and at the time considered his best work.

    Hey hey,

Yeah I actually heard Rant was really bad. One of his not so good books.

Marquis De Sade? I havent ever heard of him, but I def will now. I'm a quarter the way thro Kiss Me, Judas. So I'll have a look at him!

My all time favorite book is American Psycho (Bret Easton Ellis) It's crazy on another level. It's banned where I live (Australia). So knowing me, out of sheer curiosity, I MUST get my hands on it to see what the big fuss is over - Same goes for movies, games etc etc
