I'm 19 and in my sophomore year of college. I am obsessed with interior design, books, bookshelves, book shops, and libraries. I love to read and write and I hope to be published one day. I also run a blog about books, bookshelves, bookshops, and libraries. http://dizzysbookshelf.tumblr.com/

The administrators of 1001 BOOKS YOU MUST READ BEFORE YOU DIE welcome you to the group. There is a general explanation of the group and some answers to FAQ under the discussion thread GROUP GUIDELINES. The past Books of the Month can be found in the FAQ section for 2011, 2010 and 2009.

    July BoTM:
    Dracula by Bram Stoker

    August BoTM:
The Invention of Curried Sausage by Uwe Timm
    Rabbit, Run by John Updike
A Journey to the Centre of the Earth by Jules Verne

Let me know when you've read and reviewed Book Thief. We have this book in the library but the size of it scares of some people. The students really seem to like the other books we have by that author though.

The Chess Machine looks like a unique book. I've never heard of it. I am looking forward to reading your review of it.
