I read voraciously, and aspire to have my own library...eventually. :) I read several books at a time - some in one sitting, others over the span of several months, (a chapter here, a chapter there) - especially those with meanings that require time to process and understand.
While I'm primarily a fan of classics, ancient and pre-1960's literature, my indulgences typically include fiction, fantasy, and mystery reads, which I tend to devour rather quickly.
I have learned over the years to read everything my mother recommends, despite any misgivings or skepticism, as she is always right. I resisted for months her insistence that I read the Harry Potter series ("They're children's books!"), and the Charlaine Harris series ("Sookie wears SCRUNCHIES!"), and the Twilight Saga ("They're in high school!"), and the Diana Gabaldon Series ("I can't get past the first chapter.."). All of which are now some of my favorite books. Trust your mama.
