I read voraciously, and aspire to have my own library...eventually. :) I read several books at a time - some in one sitting, others over the span of several months, (a chapter here, a chapter there) - especially those with meanings that require time to process and understand.

While I'm primarily a fan of classics, ancient and... more »

Hi, I was just having some fun, not trying to really be political. Say, since you like Dostoevsky, have you read the one called "Demons", which is also under the title, "The Possessed"? I traded in all my D, and got all the new translation versions of his books. Supposedly the new translation is awesome and is now considered the standard when reading Dostoevsky. The translators are a couple named Pevear and Volholinsky. Anyway, I loved the book, It was written in 1872, smack in the middle of his final five books that begins with "C & P" and ends with "The Brothers K." So, I'm gonna send you an invite to my bookclub, can't hurt right?

If I read more than one book at a time...they need to be related in some way. Holy Crap! 25 books at once!

It appears you are reading 25 books at once - your memory must be better than mine. I find if I start reading 2 or more books at any one time i get characters confused and think Alice from (Adventures in Wonderland) is getting ready to put Tyler Durder (Fight Club) in a headlock. As you are reading Greek Mythology and the Great Gatsby do you ever dream about Zeus throwing Lightning Bolts at Jay Gatsby? Maybe I'm just terrible at departmentalizing...

Recently read, The Magic Of Findhorn by Paul Hawken...funny, that The Ancient One should quote Eileen Caddy, who was instrumental in getting Findhorn off the ground so to speak back in the day.

    The Ancient One says

The secret of making something work in your lives is, first of all, the deep desire to make it work.
Then the faith and belief that it can work.
Then hold that clear definite vision in your consciousness and see it working out step by step, without one thought of doubt or disbelief.
