To me, what makes this book stand out is the emphasis the author put in the power of words and how they affect people. I also liked how Death was the one narrating the story and would add his own commentary from time to time. His point of view made the story richer and I think how the book ended was perfect. I couldn't have imagined a better ending.

W.a.R.P. Book 1: the Reluctant Assassin

I enjoyed reading this book. It was unique and had a great plot. Every so often we get a glimpse of what the villian's life was like growing up so that you can't help feeling sorry for him, yet at the same time root for Riley and Chevie because essentially, he's evil.

I appreciate that the author researched about the science and theory of time travel without using a whole lot of technical jargon.
This was such a gripping story I couldn't put it down until it was finished.

Hannah Grace: I love the Discworld series - but though I haven't read this one, I'd imagine it's not as good as some of the later classics, like Going Postal, Feet of Clay, or Jingo. You ought to check out the movie, though! Sean Astin, Tim Curry, and David Jason in one cast are marvelous.

I've seen the movie and I liked it. It's one of the few movies I actually like Tim Curry in (I usually don't care for him). When I found out it was based on a book I knew I had to try it out. I haven't gotten far yet, but it's sort of similar to the movie. Have you ever watched Hogfather?

Hannah Grace: Yes, but neither are as good as the adaptation of Going Postal. The books are in no order, so skipping ahead wouldn't matter very much. Going Postal would be a good one to start with, as a matter of fact. :)

There were also several curse words in it that would not have been used in that time period.
I did like the ending though. It was funny.
