Hi Everyone,

I love books and people. It took me ten years to write my novel, The Mayor's Wife Wore Sapphires, an urban political thriller. When I finished, I won the prestigious Cush City, "2007 Best New Author Award." After that, I founded the New Image Writer's Network. It is the home of writers who want to help replace the... more »

I want to also thank you for the very thoughtful greeting, martha. I have never heard of "writestar" but, yes, I would be interested in learning more. If, in the meantime, you would like to visit my author website, please do at www.momentsofforeverbook.com.
    Best!

    Hi,
Nice to make your acquaintance on Shelfari. I am an author/philosopher from Nebraska. Please check out my new motivational book "Moments of Forever: Discovering the True Power and Importance of Your Life" (a registered Shelfari title). It is a practical study in metaphysics that will help you find greater meaning in your life. I would be honored if you would consider adding it to your list of books to read.
    Thank you!

Here is a blurb about my new book—ON THE CREST. Comments welcome: Tige Anderson goes through a series of emotional, physical and psychological adventures in this coming-of-age roller coaster, balancing his life among his romantic trysts, his ambitions, his humanity and his gay best friend. The one thread that connects all of the people in his life is the fact that the cycle of life puts everyone through a series of ups (‘on the crest’) and downs. Whether an individual winds up on top of the wave or under it depends on them. Please let me know if you would like to read the prologue. Tony Carmine.

Good morning, and thanks for accepting my friendship request. I enjoy exploring the various Shelfari Groups and when I came across the New Image Book Club group, and read a description of the group, the first thing that came to mind was the consequences of prejudice in our society. I immediately thought of a painting in the Metropolitan Museum of Art and posted a Discussion in the New Image Book Club group called 'The Tragedy and the Shame of a Prejudiced Society.'

Thanx for the compliment. I'm from TN but I never went to Fisk. I opted to leave the state for Louisiana, Xavier. I'm also not in a sorority though I must admit I have a lot of love and respect for a few women who were Deltas in college :) Take care.
