Her violent actions, some forced and some reactionary, have weighed heavily on her conscience and she's struggling to cope with what she's had to do to survive. The supporting characters do some surprising and unexpected things in this installment, and the end leaves us waiting impatiently for the final installment.”

“House of Secrets, featuring the Walker children, was a so-so read, fast paced but a bit clunky. There seemed to be too much going on and the writing was clearly meant for a much younger audience so while I didn't dislike it, i didn't love it either. The violent passages were too gratuitous and didn't really add to the story in any way, and the characters seemed to take it all in stride a little too well. Granted, the characters being systematically killed off were technically only characters in books within the book, but their brutal deletion from the story seemed poorly staged. The villians weren't that well developed and the ending was a bit too convenient, setting up the stage for a sequel. I doubt i'll be following this one up because it was a tedious read for me.”
