    Hi Taylor:

Thanks for the kind note you sent this morning. I do hope you will drop me a note when your book comes out.

While I am in the cool part of the country now, I grew up in Texas, where warm and sunny were the usual.

I notice one comment you made on your profile. It is one that I have a variation on myself. My version is: "my friends are treasure, and I plan to die rich."

Your blog is bookmarked and I will check it out later. Today a friend in my writing group is doing a public reading, and I want to be there to encourage her.

You asked about a direction to some of my writing. My most recent short story can be found at http://www.blithe.com

The title is Fear Won Out, by Jessica Wicks (that's me.) It was my first venture into fiction, and I became a convert to the genre.

Thanks again for the lovely letter, and I look forward to reading your latest book when it is released.

Hi there: Things seemed to have mellowed out - hopefully no more drama in my life for a while ;) Born by the sea you can see how much I love the water...Toronto has no sea in close proximity I would have to go eat to Nova Scotia! We just have lake Ontario which is sadly polluted with the sewage from homes and believe or not we get our water supply from the same lake!!! filtered through filtration plants and sent back for us to drink how rad is that!! :) Im not impressed to say the least. Just a bit of info on our water system here... We distill our water thanks to my wonderful better half ;)
Off to lunch "Butternut squash soup"!!! yummy!! and perhaps some salad!! have to stay in shape! well try to getting old now... extra work to do to maintain that girlish figure LOL :) Speak to you soon have a great day.

    Hi Taylor,

You cannot imagine how chuffed I am over your generous comments! Thank you.

] Just from what I've viewed on your websites draws me to your novel. Without even have held the book in my hands, I feel it will become something special and bring more acclaim than you have yet to set your sights. All this I say without having turned a single page.

    Thank you.

I think all beginning writers write the best they can, and it is luck whether they get published or not. Which is why I measure success with how many strangers are willing to put out the money to read my book. Many of my friends have sold a lot of their books to friends, neighbours, colleagues at work, and family. But this "waterhole" can only be good for a while. The author must produce a quality product for the success to continue. If not, friends and family would be trying to avoid him, so they don't have to refuse to buy his next book! That would be so sad.

For this reason, I have not persuaded any family members or close friends/neighbours to buy my book. Most are not readers, and I am too embarrassed to "beg" for their support just because I'd like to make good sales! I'm very shy, too embarrassed to go around singing praises for myself and my book! I guess I must be my publisher's despair! So it is fortunate that I can conduct some promotion on the net! :) Even so, I don't push, I only display my product, and let the readers decide. I do suggest that readers try to get their library to get in a copy so they can borrow it to read. I see this as a win/win situation — my book gets read, and my reader is not out of pocket! My book is a hardback edition, and more expensive than the mass paperback. Also, Amazon has not discounted my book, not once since it was released in December 2006. I'm annoyed about this because Amazon has discounted the novels by many authors from my own publisher, some of them even had their books discounted before they were released!

Sure I contacted Amazon and asked when I could expect my novel to be discounted, and I was told "not any time soon"! I don't know what Amazon has against me. I've seen bestselling novels being discounted too, quite soon after their release. It must be my bad karma. :(

] We women have strong intuitive feelings.
I will buy and read your flowing story, but I must keep my word and read those I've promised first. There are several, but there's something magnetically pulling me to "The Family of Strangers."

Since you don't plan to read my book yet, why don't you get your library to get in a copy? :)

I expect my novel to entertain as much as it will educate my readers about how it was in early Australia when it replaced the US as a dumping ground for Britain's convicts.

] I pray God paves the way for your wordly portrait and the sequels within you.
Let's walk a few of the miles to success together, my friend. I'd be honored.

I'm happy we're friends, Taylor. Being close friends would be a bonus! I'm not going to obsess about succeeding as a published author either. That way could lie disappointment. If I don't expect anything, then I'd be pleasantly surprised when success comes knocking at my door. I'll look forward to that! :)

    Best,

Hello sunny friend :) I must say before I begin that one of my colleagues were standing by my desk while I had your home page open and I think she got completely frazzeled when she saw the top of the page that reads ..Author of Lesbian Romance... etc. she was so busy trying to read it with total confusion that she couldnt remember what she wanted to say to me. I was laughing hysterically in my mind!!! because I know she was in state of complete confusion!! LOL :)
Would you believe it? The church was closed and Justyn and I were standing outside at 6:30 on thursday wondering what had happened. We left after a fruitless wait and went to my parents where all my relatives were.. there was tension. I walked in with the kids and I could feel it. Anyway gladly I didnt stay long...however, my mom appeared to be in a bad state, very upset and nervous. She was almost over the edge and I told her if she was feeling anything to call me no matter what time of the day or night it was. I told her to be strong. Anyway, those were the events and the saga continues. I wish I would win the lottery and help them out!! but again that may not be the solution. That's my story thus far. Its a balmy 22 degrees, sunny and warm... very bizarre for a Canadian day in October!! :) If you would like to get more info about Canada just go to www.ctv.ca (I think that is it) its our local television station website for all the news etc in Toronto. You got it, cyberspace pen-pal! Lol
Thank you for checking out my business and the compliments, it means the world to me : )
I'm really curious- what did you mean, when you said it's "clever"?

I need to straighten up a misunderstanding with you:
I totally screwed up that sentence about "it being defective". I just reread it and I'm laughing my little hiney off! I wasn't referring to homosexuality, I was referring to the people who are bigoted about it. You are a gracious soul, to just except it like that, I gotta say. :D But I want to make it absolutely clear that I do not think homosexuals are defective (that would be a total misconstruction of who I am). I was raised in a liberal household and taught to except and respect everyone, as they are. And I do : )

Thank you for respecting my "endless journey", I feel that you get it- this is a strange connection, between us. A good one.

    Hi Taylor,

    Oops.

    I write under "Sanchona" .

It's my internet username which I use for my writing purposes, and for presence on the Net. My Chinese name is too much of a mouthful.

I hope to entertain as well as "educate" my readers, even Australian ones, about the early days of colonial Australia. :)

    Hi Taylor,

Patience in writing? Yes, you could say 30 years to get one book published is showing a lot of patience! :) But then the research I did in those 30 years would serve me well when I write the sequels — yes I have really written a historical family saga which would spill into several sequels, and I'm hoping these sequels would take quicker to write. I don't have to do as much research for them, and also I think I have improved my writing skills with time. Don't you find it so? A rewrite of a completed story would take me months to complete and I do many rewrites because I keep finding flaws in what I have already written! I don't only want my historical facts to be accurate, I also want my characterisation to be spot on and the words to flow. :)

Writing for me is a craft, not an obsession. I am still working on my first sequel — yes, I have the story for all the sequels "written". It is a matter of re-writing them.

A lot of my time is spent on reading what other writers have published.

It is wonderful to find and befriend other "struggling authors" online. Thank you for being my friend. :)

    Hi there!
I went for the meeting to the church and all the doors were closed. Then off to the gathering at my parents - my mom was in a very terrible state of mind... that's all I will say with that and you can extract what I mean from that line. I am not happy with what is going on and there is absolutely NOTHING I can do.. to arrive at a resolve.

Thanks for the prayers - I finally got to reading my book again the morning on the subway... but my 1 12 hour journey to work resulted in only a page and a half of reading can you believe it?
Have a wonderful weekend. Its raining like crazy here... thurnderstorms when officially it should be snowing!!! very bizarre.
