Well, the three days of hell have come and gone and I'm back to my ole' bubbly self. Thank you for the encouraging words, it's nice to know I'm not alone :)
"My sacred side"- I like that. It's pretty amazing how we talk so differently about the same things.

I think, mostly, I figured it out from your picture. A short-haired woman in nature, with comfortable clothes. You look like the practical type :)
I had a tough week. A little girlie hormonal depression, if you will. But it brings out the worst stuff, that's crammed up, in your basement, you know?
I try to keep positive, but some times it's just a mechanism. How do you do it? How do you keep positive that you're a little engine that can, when you don't even know if you're capable of doing something, in the first place?
I guess I just have to ride out this bad wave. And keep on doing what I'm doing.
I'm glad I have you on my side, you say the most beautiful things. Sometimes I try to perceive myself through other people's eyes. Your's are extremly positive. Thanks :)

    Good Morning,

The birth announcement cards in your marketing package is a terrific idea. I hope it was very successful for you. I know if I were a bookstore owner, I'd be impressed.

Hope the book is in all the bookstores in time for Christmas shoppers!

My husband's son knows the best gift for us is gift certificates to amazon. I have about 30 titles in my shopping cart, just waiting for me.

Have you looked into amazon's "Kindle" program? I printed out their guidelines a couple days ago. If you have elecronic rights to your book, you can upload it to their site and receive a portion of any sales of it. Kindle is the name of their e-book reader, so apparently what they're doing is creating a library for people who purchase it.

Hope you had time to have a wonderful Thanksgiving and to keep up with your reading between book promo opportunities!

    Namaste,

    Cassandra

    .
Gosh, there's so much to do, places to go and people to see; I'm cross-eyed.
I'm in such a rush to get it going strong for the holidays.
    Appreciate your kind words.
Happy Thanksgiving, my friend. May God's bounty fill your heart and home.
    Peace and Light,
    Taylor

Howdy Taylor! I'm checking in. I fell off of Shelfari, climbing back up now. I'm wading through "Pastwatch" by Orson Scott Card. Whom I adore... but, well- this book hasn't GRABBED me yet. It must be me. We know it's not him! I hope that you're writing, writing, writing, and perhaps swimming with Manatees or something. I live in Florida. We don't swim with them. Apparently we drink lots of beer, get sunburned and then chase the poor things down with motor boats. :::sigh:::
Be good! Get back to your writing!

Hi Taylor! I'm SO Sorry for taking so long to respond to your nice note to me. I have CFS and am on disability, so it's hard sometimes for me to get around and do things. I love to write to! We are a lot alike! "I have a positive spin on life...I believe in dreams...God loving...fun loving...and...I have a serious funny-bone." Me, Too! lol. Although, I don't swim with dolphins and I'm scared of manatees, I do like cats and dogs! Hope to get to know you more! - Dave

I'll look for your book. That muts be one big baby to be concerned about blunt force head trauma! As for meeting my rogue cat- knowing you even as little as I do, I like you enough to not risk her flaying the flesh from your bones. Now, if you were rude and unpleasnt, it would be an entirely different story!

I read your "birth announcement for your new baby" on another member's comment page! That blurb that you left convinced me of your writing ability! Lol. I'll have to check you out! Congratulations on your new "edition". Tee hee.

I actually got you pegged perfect! That's exactly how I pictured you! :D
I figured you're not the type to draw attention on purpose (it's sad it has to be that way, but smart, on your part. I think everyone does it, one way or another)
Thanks sooooo much for being interested. Actually, all the hats are some sort of variation on the baseball cap, so go ahead and choose whatever strikes your fancy :)

    This is my “kid-driving-its-mom-bananas-with-questions” speaking:
What kind of research did you do? And how are you getting the word out, currently?
Creative/independent professions are often very demanding. I can't believe my work-load! My beloved spouse (I can't believe his work load either) also got me a little illustration gig. Which is cool, because I have yet to work for someone. I also got this girl, who really got a kick out of the idea of showing up on my site, so she wants me to make two paintings of her and she might commission a gift for a friend.
By the way, can my “kid-driving-its-mom-bananas-with-questions” ask you a few professional questions? I'm very interested in writing a novel- it's one of my (short)life-long dreams :)
oh! and also, if you know anything about journalistic writing, although that's a totally different story... I know I need to focus, but there are so many things I want to do, you know?
I guess, right now, the short term goal is to just make money (would you believe I'm thinking about my pension plan :D ). I just need to see that people could be interested in what I have to say (whatever medium I choose to say it in), and also to feel independence- I have a lot to thank my dad for (even if we can't agree on anything :( ).

I wish you all the success in the world with your novel (by the way, I think I found it, but just in case, send me a link, I'm in the mood for a Christmas gift ;) )

    Hi Helen,
Thanks for your kind note. I was reading Paulo Coelho's "The Zahir" where it is said that a writer is like a typist; it's the characters that run the show. Thats what seems to happen really while writing. You have got to give in to your characters who can turn your plot away from what you intended it to be.
Yes, we celebrated Diwali; it sure is a happy event like Christmas. I am a Christian, so I know of both. I'll check out your book on amazon. I too hope we can have a long relationship as writers.
    Cheers,
    Oswald

Something that wouldn't get you stared at , at the pool? From my experience, don't wear a thong bikini... hahahaha. Big hats are the kind that get all the looks. you should go for one of those fishing caps- you know, the ones with a 10cm (4 inches I think :) ) floppy rim. They're cool, but not attention grabbing.
Thanks again for all your kind words (and the prayers- I value the thought :D ) Tell me about your marketing ploys (in the end we're all in the same business...)
    Great to here from you,
    Tali
