My books are a mix of recently read and books I read up to 30 years ago! I used to read lots of Science Fiction and Fantasy, but haven't read much in a while. I can be an obsessive reader of "junk food books," like mysteries, at times. Recently I've gravitated toward non-fiction. I like natural history and outdoor adventure books because I... more »

I was posting Dune, as a book I was going to read (my book club picked it for our next meeting), and I saw you had just read it. Small world!

It is kind of cool, walking down memory lane. Some books I remember what I was listening to when I read them, where I was, what I was doing in my life. A personal history, but through the books I was reading. I think if I had kept all the books I had read, I'd need a bigger house. I need to pay more attention to the tags. That seems like a fun way to organize things too.

thanks. You have a lot of nice books yourself. I wandered into your shelf, and noticed a lot of overlap with mine, and even more overlap with books I have read but didn't think of to put up on my shelf! I think it will take a long time before I really get a good sample of everything I have read up there.

So here I am, looking at your wish list. I got The Worst Hard Time from the library and didn't enjoy it as much as I thought I would. I think it might be because it's summer and I'm looking for something lighter, though.

I lived up at Hornton Creek for a few months one fall. I love that area...and I'm wondering what sort of job a naturegeek gets around there? Not that I want to infringe on your corner of the market...I'm happily planted in the coachella valley for now.

Hello - I very much appreciate your comment - very true - I hope you stay around and write more - but there are many books to distract us!

This is an addictive site, isn't it? I suppose the ultimate irony of it is that if you're playing with this site, you're not off reading.
