Another one of Dekker's better books, this series ties in directly with the Circle Series. A must read for Ted Dekker fans. Attention: This whole series will make more sense if you read the Circle Series first.

A book I thoroughly enjoyed. It was witty, sarcastic, and funny.

This was a good book. I love historical fiction anyway, but put that with war and you've got me hooked. The subject of the struggle for Jerusalem interests me anyway and when I saw this series I had to read it. It starts out with the British pulling out of Jerusalem and the fighting going on from there. It has a pretty solid group of characters with troubles and experiences of their own. This makes for an interesting book. Jerusalem Vigil is the first in the Zion Legacy series and I've read the entire series (it only gets better). Highly recommended.

This is not the first but not the last book of the Circle Series. This is the in-between book. This comes after White but before Black and explains everything. Not my favorite. In fact after reading it I was disappointed with it. Maybe I expected too much. By the time Dekker got to writing this, he was in a stage where his writing was weird. Green ties in both the Circle series and the other circle (Showdown, Saint, and Sinner) really well and explains it smoothly with little mistake. However, good backtracking does not a good book make. This was not as good as the others. Still worth reading for those of you who are wondering what happened to Thomas and the rest of them. But don't be expecting what you got when you read the rest of the Circle Series.

The conclusion to the Circle Series, White, was not my favorite but was a really good book. In this one, the Rasion Strain is wreaking havoc on the nations and Monique de Rasion is helpless to stop it (she can't find a cure). Meanwhile, Thomas lays dead in the basement of the criminal masterminds. In the other world, he continues to live on. Can he ever get back and help save the world? I won't say too much but it gets WAY better. Final warning, make sure you have the other two before venturing into this one.

Picking up where Black left off, Red is number two in the Circle Series and just as good! In this one, Thomas Hunter must rescue the only person that can make a vaccine for the Rasion Strain that has now been released. Meanwhile, in the other world, Thomas is a war veteran and must take care of his village and family from the Horde, a pale, scaly skinned tribe bent on destroying the Albino's (Thomas' group). Another action packed book from Ted Dekker. Again I say, be sure to have the other two before reading this one.

  • A Series of Unfortunate Events (Books 1 to 13)
    • Rated 5 stars

Interesting series of books about three orphans and the misfortunes that follow (hence the title). I have read these books a few times each (usually in order) and enjoyed them each time. It's witty, cunning, and humorous all at the same time! Worthy of a read.

Awesome book. This is one of Dekker's better books. Black is the first in the Circle Series and, in my opinion, is the best of the three (not that the other two are not good as well). The main story is about a man who get's chased in the beginning. The chase intensifies and he gets shot at and a bullet grazes his head. He goes unconscious. He wakes up in another world. His head still bleeds from the bullet wound...or is it the rock that he fell on? Things only get more interesting as the story goes on. This book will have you turning the page late into the night. The suspense seems like it never subsides all while keeping the story alive! A highly recommended book from me.

  • Evan Drake Howard'sThe Galilean Secret: A Novel (Modern Contemporary Fiction Po) [Hardcover](2010)
    • Rated 1 stars

This was not the book I expected it to be. It was a story that seemed promising. But not at all. It was about a scroll someone finds in a cave. This scroll was a letter from Jesus to Mary Magdalene talking about how the only reason He can resist her is because He has found His inner female. The rest of the book goes on to explain how we cannot be whole in life without finding the female within us. My final review, His portrayal of Jesus was horrible and the concept of the book was not Biblical (set in the time period of Jesus, it should have followed it). Don't waste your time with this book.

  • The Phantom of the Opera
    • Rated 5 stars

A great story! This book is known mainly from the play and the movie (both of which are worth a watch). Mostly, people are surprised when they read the book because everything is not as it is told in the movie. It is superbly told through the unique writing style that Mr. Leroux employs. It is told using the third person through someone investigating the existence of the Phantom and the events that entail that time period. *SPOILER ALERT!* The ending has made some cry (though not myself, but that could have been because I knew it was coming). In short, it is the tale of a monster and a lady, a theater and its secrets, and an old love sparked anew. All in all, a great book worth reading. Who knows? Maybe you will understand the movie better.
