I'm Réka, 21 years old, have been living in Hungary all my life but one day I hope to try what's life like in other parts of the world. I'm studying Aesthetics, History of Art & English Literature and I guess that tells a lot about me. Trying to find a way to enjoy life as much as possible is of crucial importance and I tend to seek the beauty in everything... But when I can't find it, I just lock myself up in my mind and dream of distant lands or bygone eras. This is why I love fine art, music, movies, and of course, literature so much - it helps me get away from the huge disappointment what life usually turns out to be.
One day, I hope to be a literary translator or a critic... but I've still got a long way to go. I need years, or probably decades more of reading, learning about art and refining my taste so I can finally tell an audience about my view of the world. I feel the potentiality in myself... I just don't know how to express it yet.
Some of the things I really like are the Romanticism, any sorts of escapism, the Victorian era, Gothic fiction, nature, vintage fashion, folk music, architecture, American transcendentalism, traveling, perfumes and poetry... and there's a lot more, of course. Some of these things might seem superficial, but I think anything can make a mean of self-expression - the books I choose to read, the clothes in my wardrobe or the perfumes in my collection, there's really no difference.
I hope to meet any kind of people here - kindred spirits, fellow daydreamers or even people who are really different from me. I always love a great debate!
So much for a brief introduction :)
