I grew up at a time when there were 4 television channels and no internet. When I was in the 7th grade someone brought a copy of "Pimp: The Story Of My Life" to school with brown paper taped over the cover. I took it home and read it from cover to cover in 3 days. One might want to argue about the value of the subject matter but the bottom line is: that novel piqued my interest in reading. A few years later I began writing in earnest.

I love literature. Shelfari has brought me back to reading. I've read more in the last 12 months than I had in the last 5 years.
