I love to read. I enjoy all kinds of books, except maybe science fiction, but I haven't really read a lot of science fiction so I guess I shouldn't rule it out...I mostly enjoy mysteries, but am running out of British mystery authors to read! I love Pride and Prejudice, and have read all of Jane Austen's work. My all time favorite television...more »

LOL, I agree, Hamish can be a real pain in the butt! It is a rather original mystery series, though. I was surprised at how much I enjoyed the first one. I just picked up Murder on Astor Place, the first in Victoria Thompson's Gaslighy Mysteries...I hope it's good...I'm a fan of Anne Perry's Pitt mysteries and it seems almost like an American version...have you read any of those? Fingers crossed that it's good and I'll have series to become addicted to...!

Hi, I'm just accepting your friendship request from about two months ago...! I've been away for quite some time and am playing some serious catch-up...

Oh yes, Colin Firth in P&P will always top my favorites list:) Read any good mysteries lately? I've just starting reading the Charles Todd series...quite good, a bit old-fashioned but I enjoyed A Test of Wills and just picked up Wings of Fire. Can't wait to read that one;)

I love your bookshelf, all my favourites. Have you read some of the older British mystery authors like Dorothy L Sayers & Marjorie Allingham? Also NZ author Ngaio Marsh should be available in US. Not sure about Australian mystery writers but we have some good ones. I find I re-read my favourite runs of mystery writers & have just finished all the Martha Grimes for about the 4th time. Maybe something a bit obsessive about that...

I don't get the whole Outlander thing...some people are quite fanatic...maybe the later books are better, but I'm not bothering with them.
Jill McGown is really good. A Perfect Match is the first book in her Lloyd/Hill series. Stephen Booth is a little darker, but very suspenseful. I have a whole tag dedicated to British Police Procedurals that you might want to check out...there a few more authors there. I just love my Brit mysteries:)

Hi! I just responded to your post in the WTF group about Outlander. I can't stand that book either! I really don't get the obsession over it.

I noticed your love British mysteries...I share that love:) Some authors you might like (I didn't see them on your shelf): Jill McGown, Stephen Booth, Robert Barnard and Minette Waters. I've really enjoyed their books, especially Jill McGown. If you like historical mysteries, Anne Perry's Pitt series is quite good. Hope this helps you find more British mysteries:)
