Hi Amanda. I just saw that you have The Glass Castle as one of your books that you plan to read. I read it and found it to be incredibly powerful. I'm curious to know what your thoughts are once you read it.

That's okay, 1 MONTH isn't that long. :) I am listening to KoL new album. My favourite track at the moment is Use Somebody. I also like Vampire Weekend but I have never heard of Jenny Lewis or The Bloodsugars. Are they popular (in indie terms) in America? Of course, everyone has heard of Katy Perry but I only know one of her songs which the one I think is called I Kissed a Girl. I don't really know much about the mainstream music.

I haven't read either book, but I've always heard good things about little Francie and the Nolan family. I'll add that one to my shelf.
No Peter Pan complex, huh? I'm still dealing with mine.

You have no idea how weird it is to be here, especially coming from the greatest city in the greatest country in the world, but its a long long story how I got here. Too long for this forum. Stuck here now though cos I got divorced here and now my babies are here so I'm not going anywhere. But it was really nice to see "Staten Island" pop up. Dont know how many times I froze myself on the ferry going to work. And used to live in Ozone Park also. You're big into astrology. I'll have to review your shelf more seriously and see what I can learn from you. Have to respect someone from the Big City!

Nice to meet you, Amanda. Cool shelf. Hot Water Music, Last Exit to Brooklyn and Winesburg, Ohio are all great books.
I'm curious why you hate Catcher in the Rye. It's one I read when I was about your age, and I thought it was great.

I see you are new around here, you might enjoy Better than Starbucks
    http://www.shelfari.com/groups/23648/about

Better than Starbucks is one of the fastest growing literary/social groups on Shelfari, with good reason. the membership (not so much me, the founder) is literate and diverse, and by and large very intelligent. The name of the group comes from an argument that led to the founding.

You can check out the following thread to understand a bit the naming:
