Quote I like:

"When you study minimalism in Tom Spanbauer’s workshop, the first story you read is Amy Hempel’s “The Harvest”. Next you read Mark Richard’s story “Strays”.

After that, you’re ruined.!!! If you love books, if you love to read, this is a line you may not want to cross.

I’m not kidding. You go beyond this... more »

I know right? Its like how could you dislike such a great story that YOU wrote.

Hmm, Ill have to check out some of his stuff. I know what you mean about Chuck P. I now compare other books to his and I want books to be more grotesque and smart haha. Im happy to be reading another Chuck P. book right now. I just finished Naked Lunch by William S. Burroughs and I was very confused and ready for it to be over with already.

Let me know what you think of the ending.

Whats M. Crichton like? He doesnt write disturbing stuff does he?

I saw Fight Club the movie first and loved it. I finally got around to reading the book. Its such a quick read. Im gonna finish it today so im changing my "Currently Reading" section of my shelf to the next book that ill start today. But, yes the book is good. Its hard not to see the movie as you read but oh well. I enjoyed the movie and now the book. :)

Let me know what you think when you finish A Clockwork Orange. Do you have the book with 21 chapters or 20 chapters? Ive seen the movie (which is great) and it is based off the American version of the book when it first came out which excluded the 21st chapter and probably the most important part of the book.

Ive heard about The Dark Tower series and it was also recommended to me awhile ago. Ill definitely check it out. I love Stephen King so im sure ill love that series.

How are you liking A Clockwork Orange?? I just read it earlier this week and I loved it!
I started Catch-22 and I find it really funny but its slow for me to get into. I hope its not slow through the whole book for me.

Hope your week is going great! :)

With Murakami, I would probably start with "Kafka on the Shore," that was the first book I read by him. Murakami is definitely more about magical realism and metaphor than Palahniuk is. If you're looking for books that have similar themes to Palahniuk's I would also recommend "American Psycho" by Bret Easton Ellis.

So far im LOVING Haunted. I had no idea the short story 'Guts' was apart of that book. I had read that story many times before on its own. haha pretty disturbing. I think im gonna really enjoy Haunted.
I just bought A Clockwork Orange monday along with Lord Of The Flies and Catch 22!
Let me know how it is. I loved the movie so im sure the book is better.

well as you may know Mario Puzo wrote the Godfather. I havent read the book yet because ive seen the movie and i kind of dont want to read something i know whats gonna happen haha you know? but im going to eventually. His other books are mainly about mafia as well. I highly suggest Omerta and The Sicilian. but any of those ive read ive loved. :)
