I'm a mom to 5 super fantastic children (2 girls and 3 boys) who range in age from 9 to 22. I am the wife of 14 years to one marvelous man who loves God first....and that's great by me! I left my job as a kindergarten parapro this school year to stay home and care for teachers babies. Right now, I just have one and she's out of this world... more »

Ah, well, if you like any of the Little Women movies, that counts enough. Haha! I just finished The Host today, and I thought that it was extremely good.

Hey! I hope you had a great mother's day! I guess I wasn't in the mood for She Walks These Hills, because I really couldn't get into it. If you like Louis Mae Alcott, though, I strongly reccomend The Glory Cloak. It was very good.

It reminded me a little bit of Twilight, so I liked it a lot. I was even wishing that there was a sequel. It was a pretty fast read, too. I'm sorry you're not getting into it. Maybe if you keep reading it will grow on you. Haha! I couldn't get into To Say Nothing of the Dog, which was annoying. I don't know if anyone is actually reading that one.

Hey there! My, you certainly have a full life. I love the idea of babysitting a kid or two, especially since my son is supposed to start Kindergarten this year. I love being at home, and jobs seem to be scarce around here. ugh! Have you been able to find a copy of The Heretic's Daughter yet?

Ahhh, definitely not a light book LOL! And those were both big ones you were in the middle of, both good ones too. Have you read The Other Queen yet? Jaimee and I listened to it on our trip to FL and it was really good (Philippa Gregory).

Dang, I'm sorry you didn't like the River Wife! Maybe I liked it more because it's about and area that I know? It was pretty convoluted going back and forth between dates but I hope it calls you back some day, it's a good story(-:

I can understand why you didn't like Light on Snow. It was a dark book, not my usual type. The first book iIever read by Karen Kingsbury was A Time to Dance. I loved it. I also liked the Redemption series. Although #1 was not a favorite, the Baxter family grew on me.

I have read many of the same books or authors as you have! I like Philippa Gregory, Francine Rivers, Muaeve Binchy, Nicholas Sparks to name a few. My book club tried Jane Green recently but simply couldn't get into her writing. have you tried Anita Shreve? I have read a couple of hers that I liked recently. I love Luanne Rice and Kristen Hannah and oh, don't get me started :) I think i will go read. I never thought of putting my Bible Studies on my shelf. A good idea!

    Hi !
Aren't babies wonderful ! I'm a mom of 5 sons and 2 daughters, age thirty to age 8. My 8 year old was reading a book on the sun porch and was laughing like crazy ( I was cooking dinner in the kitchen and could hear this chuckling....) He was reading: "Diary of a Wimpy Kid" too !!! I think it was the " Doctor I need a new...." that just "cracked him up " !!!

Hi Darlene! I hope you were not offended by me when I said "deeply religious"--in some ways I feel I am deeply religious as well--I should have been more clear about that--maybe I should have said "deeply into organized religion"! hee hee--see what I'm saying? I love my husband and family--our children attend Catholic school, and I attend mass every week, sometimes multiple times, but I have been resisting "converting" to Catholicism for over 13 years now...guess it is just too structured for me--too many "rules" again! Guess that's why Lutheran has always been a good fit for me. They have their own rules, but not quite so many as the Catholic church does.

Thanks for being friends--let have more great conversation in the future!
