YOU are walking on Miami Beach in Florida; the sky is dark and threatening to rain. You see a handsome Egyptian man walking down the beach carrying a leather pouch over his right shoulder, he looks back anxiously, as if someone might be following him but when he does so he stumbles and falls, spilling the seeds in his pouch. Asim hurriedly picks up the seeds, counting them as he drops each one back into his case.
It starts to rain and he quickly rushes off, not knowing that he has lost a single seed. It starts to rain harder as you see something protruding from the sand, and then a beautiful red rose grows almost instantly. You must be seeing things.
You approach the rose and when you bend down to examine it something amazing happens.
“Quick,” says the rose. “Hide me before he comes back. I grant wishes and all the wishes he wants are evil ones. Please take me home with you.”
You dig up the flower and head back to your hotel.
You have a nice shelf.
I hope you are reading lots of interesting books.
Knights of the Dragon:
Leander is under siege. It seems their wizard is dying. A dragon befriends a boy and hires knights to save his kingdom. Alexa is a match for any man, except perhaps for Stone; they’ve had eyes for one another for years, though neither will admit it. A dragon is born that turns out to be a wizard, a rare dragon indeed.
And there are whispers of a boy wizard.
It’s a tale of wizards, dragons, romance and knights.
Hi Margaret! This strange on-line world of ours notified me about a change to The Green Line data because I'm the author...so that led me to you. Thanks for adding the opening line about the book, and thanks for downloading my book and taking a chance on an unknown author. I certainly hope you enjoy it and would love to hear from you when you're done!
Take care and happy reading--

I am trying to get us good writers in this group and we hope you will read us too. I write suspense/thrillers but we have other writers in several genres, they are on page #2/3. If you’re an Author, please add your name and website under your book genre heading.
Hi Margaret. Please join us at a new Shelfari.com group: Good Reads Café
This is a Readers’ and Writers’ group. Open discussions, debates, critiques and self-promotions…
The group is for all readers and for all good authors. All book genres are welcome. I write thrillers based on true events.
Cloudy and cool out there this morning, another dull day. Interesting shelf.
"This was an interesting take on the typical Dracula story, and I loved it. I am not a fan of this genre. The only other vampire tales that I've read was Twilight. And, let me tell you this is nothing like it. I was interested in the premise of a suicidal Dracula." L. Collins
Dracula: Hearts of Stone (Dracula is a good guy)
We start with a shiny new pot of boiling water and add too many evil vampires, and not enough of the good biters. Toss in one suicidal Dracula; add a cup of mayhem and a dash of romance. Oh yes, and a pinch of mirth. Stir lovingly and you have a novel by A. J. Gallant. If it sounds like the recipe for you then you must read Dracula: Hearts of Stone.

Unrealistic or not my writing gives me hope. But with something like 50 000 books published a month it is a little discouraging. I can just picture my book underneath that pile being crushed. I didn’t think there were that many writers out there. Must be a factory out there producing them like peanut butter cookies.
Margaret, my family tree is up there in the World Family Tree. One of my correspondents says we both have a Cherokee Indian way back in there, but I haven't seen any convincing evidence of it. My book, Held for Ransom, has recently taken off in sales since the ex-FBI agents have learned about it. you might want to move it up in your queue if you haven't started reading it yet.
