I hope I didn't offend you with my Boycotting Authors statement. I like that you put your point of view out there. I just happen to disagree with it. I think sometimes tone gets lost in the words when I type them. Please keep posting by all means!
I will post about your Dragonlance group in the Fantasy/Science Fiction Book of the Month group. I don't have time to start a new series now so I probably won't join, but you are welcome to join the Fantasy/Science Fiction BotM group! Hope a few people from the group will join yours!
Louby doesn't live with me - she lives with her partner!! She's always been a bookworm from the age of 4 when she learned to read. I still have all her books from that age upwards in my loft. We're going to get them down one day and see what's there - that should be fun!!
Sorry - I don't use the friends feature for this member id so I declined your friendship invitation. Feel free to post a public note anytime though! Otherwise, we'll keep the friendship thing between BC and you.
I suspect that we are violent agreement. Both of your examples are valid collective works. (the "crystal" one though needs to have a title change.)
My problem was that, originally, you said that Tarot was NOT an omnibus and the Amazon reviews tended to make me agree with that. If, however, it IS an omnibus, then all you need to do is to update the subtitle line per our discussion on the L&E group and to go back and pick up that edition that I mistakenly separated.
Clear as mud?
From now on, it will probably be best to have such conversations in only one place. Between this series of public notes & the thread on the L&E group, I think we are posting on top of each other.
I replied (as DL) on the L&E group.
I am rejecting this title change (again) until I better understand what this ~!@#$% book really is ~smile~!!
I'm really confused and may have messed up.
Is Tarot by Anthony an anthology? The reviews don't seem to indicate that. I separated the edition that had all three titles before I realized that you had made this a collective work. I'm reviewing the title change request now and need to know if this specific book indicates that all three titles - separately - are included in this one book. If so, the title should included all those titles. If not, then it isn't a collective work.
These things can get confusing! Authors have been known to publish singly and, then, publish sections of a book as separate titles. The reverse is also true. On occasion an author will combine previously published stories and edit them to be on continuous story. The latter is NOT a collective work.
Let me know what this particular book contains. If it doesn't have a TOC listing those three titles, then it isn't a collective work regardless of how much in common exists with the other three titles.
Sorry to mess you up!
