Finding time to read?
*sigh*... not as much as I'd like...
Could my favourite authors (Stephen Baxter, Stephen King, Robert Rankin, Dean Koontz, etc) just pause for a bit while I catch up?
Much obliged...

Dan, for just plain fun check out: "The Human Chronicles Trilogy" by T.R. Harris. It's a sci/fi pulp fiction space opera but what a great ride. Enjoy and READ ON...

Dan, check out "Resurrection" by Arwen Dayton and for some scary moments I think you would enjoy "Fragment" by Warren Fahy, "Wild Justice" by Phillip Margolin, and "The Hundredth Man" by Jack Kerley. Enjoy and READ ON...

Dan, your summation is right on target! Like you I still love everything about books, the smell, the covers, how they look in my library, everything. But having said that, as I've aged, contracted Rheumatoid Arthritis and deteriorating eyes, my Kindle has saved the day to an extent. The weight is less than a paperback and I can adjust the the font sizes so that I can see the type...I'm a happy reader again :]). Ironically, since I've rekindled my interest in sci/fi most of my purchases are books again as many of the earlier writers aren't available in the Kindle format...ah, the best laid plans of mice and men. Anyway, I'm glad to have hooked up with a fellow sci/fi fan. READ ON...

Dan, like you I read a few of his books as a teenager but frankly only vaguely remember them. A friend recommended "The Last Drop" to me so I decided to try again. From my point of view the man was a wingnut and menace to normalcy but then again since his genre is sci/fi fantasy/adventure I guess that's to be expected so I thought I would give him a try again. I'll try to remember to let you know how I like the book I'm reading now. If you haven't read "The Barsoom Series: Book I & II" by Edgar Rice Burroughs and/or "The Harry Harrison Collection" by Harry Harrison you might want to check them out. Not only are they free in the Kindle format from Amazon, they are both fantastic stories that I think you would enjoy, I sure have! Anyway, enjoy and READ ON...

Dan, thank you for the friending, I'm looking forward to reading your comments about "Tales of the Dying Earth" which is one of my all time favorite collections of stories. As you can probably tell I'm addicted to all things Jack Vance. You have a wonderful and diverse collection of books on your shelf! I think you would really enjoy "The Grey Mane of Morning" and "Red Moon and Black Mountain" by Joy Chant also as well as "The First Law Trilogy" and "Best Served Cold" by Joe Abercrombie. Enjoy and READ ON...

The book's great so far. I picked it up in a charity shop for £1.49 and it's proving to be a real bargain! I haven't seen the film, so can't compare. I'd heard the book was better, so wanted to read it first.

Not a clue, Dan. I think it's on my 'to read' list but I added it by accident. It's actually on the shelf of a litte group I started the other week. Come join the merry throng! http://www.shelfari.com/groups/81144/about

Dan, 'The Book of Lost Things' looks great. Is it worthy?

Nearly finished Kool Aid, Dan, and all I can say is that I wish it were triple the word count...as in, I don't want it to end. Most definitely recommended!!

    Dan,

Thanks. However, I'm not sure I am going to have time for another online social networking venue. I've written my reviews on LinkedIn.
