I am a Speech Pathologist who just received a second Master's in Counseling Psychology at Pacifica Graduate Institute. It was an amazing experience and I'm still tring to process it all. What changes were wrought during those three years.
My dream, though, is writing, My first short story was published in February of 2004. I have had six stories published and then hit a year-long dry spell. Today, December 7th, I found out I have won a short fiction contest and will be the featured story in an annual fiction anthology, Silent Voices, volume 4. I asked the Universe for a sign that writing is my path and it looks like I got my answer. Thanks to my friends and family for their support and encouragement, and a special thanks to Stephanie who turned a red-letter day into a real party.
A libarian's daughter, I am an avid reader. Hopefully my shelf will someday more accurately reflect the bookish life I lead. They are spilling from the bookcases and have staked claims on the floor. I am reminded of Dr. Peter Venkman in Ghostbusters .... "Vertical book stacking. No sane person would stack books this way"
