They are socio-political sci-fi pieces. The ones i ahve read can be broken into the Union-Alliance War and the Foreigner series.U-A is about the people caught in the middle of a war between Earth and Cyteen, a human colony World that is the only other world that is Earth like that we have found uninhabited. The people and the time frame depend on the book. Each is a unique perspective of the war.Foreigner is about the translator to an alien race upin whose world we have crash landed. There is a lot of rumination and internal discussion within the main character, but I love it and the way he thinks.
