Amy - Book reviews on http://pagesofdiscovery.blogspot.com.

I'm a 32-year-old homeschool mom, writer, and Christian. I love to read, write, and watch movies. I'm a pretty unconventional, fun-loving, kind of girl. I consider myself to be laid back and very thankful for the life I lead.

As far as writing and reading go, I prefer Fantasy over all other genres. I love the adventure and... more »

I've alredy finished it. I don't understand how some ppl think that is was better than Twilight. Maybe they just wanted to say it. Now I'm reading The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy.

Hey, glad to hear from you again, and that you're getting better (although slowly). The holidays went okay. My computer works fine now. It was about time it crashed, honestly. At least that didn't happen while I was still at school. Oh, I joined MuggleSpace just for the fun of it. I'm too anti-social to be online anywhere else. Anywho, I'll be praying for you. Once again, get better soon! Bye!

Hey Amy, Happy New Year! How are you feeling? My computer crashed on New Year's Eve and I only got it fixed today, so I've been re-writing my chapter one long-hand trying to be all 'old-school' and stuff. Anyway, I hope everything's okay with you. Let me know how things are going. Later.

Hey Amy, not sure if you got my email - but anyway, I've been busy re-working my backstory. Things are starting to be a little clearer to me now. So how's your book-writing going? Hope all is well. Later.

I do understand about the difference between a writer's brain and an editor's brain. They are often in conflict. But it's an essential thing to have both! Good luck with the project. Sounds exciting!

Luthiel's Song will be 7-8 books when finished with two series -- each with about four books in total. If you do read it, I'd love to hear the opinion of a fellow writer.

I'm working on the third book in my fantasy series -- Luthiel's Song and hoping to have the second one published by Christmas. What's your project? I hope it's going well.

Hey again, it's kind of cool to be your first Caribbean friend, even if it is online. As a rule, I don't give out too much personal info on the Internet, but I live about an hour from Port of Spain. It would be less if it wasn't for all the traffic. And it's more of a village or town than a full-blown city.

I'm still in the early stages of my book. I only really have about 3 good chapters, maybe 4. I think I have to split up a few things, and shift some around. My chapter one needs serious work, but I don't want to stop to fix it just yet, or I fear I'll never get to the end.

Sometimes I think I should just write the story all the way through instead of trying to edit as I go, and then just rewrite the whole thing again from start to finish. But then new ideas can abruptly change the whole story, and so I have to go back and fix things. Ah, the first draft is always the hardest! What's your strategy?

Oh, and I just graduated from university, so I'm still job-hunting. I got my BSc in Information Systems & Management, which I know has nothing to do with writing, but I kind of like being part 'techy' and part 'artsy'. I guess I'm a hybrid that way, so does that make me environmentally friendly?

Wow, I always thought teaching was one of the hardest professions. I don't think I have the patience for it, even if it is with my own child (future child, that is). I think I have a cousin who homeschools her children though.

Hey, your book sounds cool, and mysterious...

I would say that Trinidad is not all that touristy, it's more a Tobago thing, but Port of Spain is where all the big hotels are, and restaurants and night clubs and shopping, and so on. It's also where all the Cruise ships dock (hence the 'port' in Port of Spain). Truth be told though, you can get all that same stuff in other parts of Trinidad too, it's just that Port of Spain is the capital. People like to think it's our own New York, but on a much smaller scale.

None of those stores you mention are here, not even McDonald's. They closed up shop some years ago, but we have Burger King, K.F.C. and Pizza Hut, and some others. Most of the big superstore chains in Trinidad are local, except for PriceSmart which is American, but I doubt you've heard of it.

Hey, I'm sure he must have mentioned Doubles, but I really can't remember. It's pretty much a staple fast food. You can get it at any street corner in Port of Spain (that's our capital) or anywhere really. It's made with 'channa & aloo' (curried chick peas & potato) sandwiched between two fried breads called 'barra' (like Bake but softer), hence the name Doubles. It's strictly an Indian-Trinidadian (or Indo-Trini) food. Everybody eats it, but you'll never find it in India.

Oh, don't worry about the Alchemyst thing. I realized I spelled it wrong after I posted. I know the one you're talking about though. I already put it on my wish list, but the other one sounds like a good read too, although perhaps more serious.

Sorry to say I haven't been anywhere else but the U.S. Someday I'll go to London for sure (my sister studied there - I was so jealous), and I have family in Canada too. Still, Paris would be the best place to go. I've always had a thing for Egypt too.

Hey, you still haven't talked about your book (not that you have to if you don't want to). I was just wondering.
