Sara W

As a mom of three young children it's not always easy to find time to read. I recently "rediscovered" the library and have also managed to open my children's eyes up to the wonders to be found there. My two year old is particularly fond of it; whenever we head out, his first question is "Go library?"

Many books on my read shelf are... more »

Have you read the other books by James Rollilns? Which one is your favorite? He cam recommeded so Black Order will be my first.
I see you're a mom of 3. I am a mom of 4 girls. Twin 11 year olds, a 9 year old, and 7 year old. Nothing like escaping into a book for peace and quiet.

No because I feel like an idiot when I review books. I almost feel illiterate. And to try to review on that I didn't "get"....oy.

Funny thing. Someone just recommended I read "Briar Rose" and I went and looked at it and added it to my TBR shelf and then saw your little cow under "members with this book". I waved at you. :-)

Ooo you should definitely give Ulysses another go - summer was the best time for me - the best advice I got (and I like giving to everyone else) is to read at the very least a page a day, even if sickness over takes you, it is the kind of book I would have put down and not picked up again if I left it too long. I think it could possibly be the greatest book ever written (but have yet to read every book ever written! ;-p) An Encounter was one of the five stories I really enjoyed (Eveline was so-so for me.) Have you made it to "Counterparts" yet?

Thanks for the info... I usually try to get a book that combines Myth with a bit of history... I heard Yeats may be a good one for Irish Myth... maybe...

I love Portrait of the Artist as a Young Man as well, but I like most of what i have read by and about Joyce (such an interesting character...) How far are you in Dubliners? Enjoyed an shorties in particular? You'll probs enjoy Woolf, she has her own unique style - although I do have a few criticisms of her that you have also note if you read a To the Lighthouse and Mrs Dalloway...

Saw you added The Hero with a Thousand Faces... are you interested in mythology? Next to reading/writing, it is one of my passions... is the Irish Myths of Legends book I saw on your shelf a good start for irish mythology?

    Thanks for the friendship request...

I don't mean to laugh when you are having family drama, but I WAS FEELING bad about disappearing on you. Work just got really busy. I guess our pairing up was kismet in a way. Let's just agree to let the contest go. We both just have too much going on and the pace was just too killer. Do you agree?

I like that James Joyce is one of your faves, btw. =o)

Oops! I am not following this well at all! Ah, well. That's okay. I have another one I can start tonight. Plus, I need to finish America... sigh.

If you don't feel like finishing, you have my blessing not to kill yourself with it.

Listen, please don't worry. I didn't finish America yet! This is really a difficult contest. So, maybe we just read and do what we can but not worry. I have Africa covered if you want Ireland.

No, please go ahead. I picked up the Somnabulist at the library yesterday which, I believe, will work for America.

Okay, so I think I am going to read "Pride and Prejudice and Zombies: The Classic Regency Romance -- Now With Ultraviolent Mayhem!" It fits the England and humor tags. I bought it, but I won't start reading until Saturday. =o)
