It's a good read but I get confused with the large number of characters. There didn't really seem to be main character to follow. Also, I really don't care for all of the acronyms.

Okay, but not Jude's best. Wasn't cohesive, seemed to be a jumble of pieces and lots of gaps.

This was not my favorite book of the series but it was good enough to draw me to the next one, and the next...

This is a new author for me. I understand there's a series so I will definitely be looking for book two.

I don't care for the oblique conversations between the characters. Maybe it's a different way to distract the reader from guessing the perpetrator. In the end I liked the book, but I prefer more straightforward dialogue to develop the story and characters.

Nice little twist at the end

It felt to me like I was reading the sequel written by Margaret Mitchell herself. The style and flow were so similar. I didn't expect the characters to be depicted quite the same because they were seen from Rhett's perspective. The ONLY flaw I found was that Mammy wasn't buried in her red petticoat -- in fact, she wasn't buried at all! (One last comment, I was very disappointed in Scarlett. By introducing so many new characters, it didn't even feel like a sequel to me.)

I had very mixed feelings about this book. I almost gave up about 150 pages in, but something compelled me on, and I ended up reading to the end. However, I can't say I enjoyed it, but it was insightful and thought provoking, and that isn't necessarily bad.

It seems like Elizabeth George has been trying to take different approaches to stretch herself and to keep us from getting bored. But I have to admit, she's really close to losing me because the development of the recurring (very interesting) characters and figuring out the perpetrator are no longer the focus of her books -- and I miss that a lot.
