“I had very mixed feelings about this book. I almost gave up about 150 pages in, but something compelled me on, and I ended up reading to the end. However, I can't say I enjoyed it, but it was insightful and thought provoking, and that isn't necessarily bad.
It seems like Elizabeth George has been trying to take different approaches to stretch herself and to keep us from getting bored. But I have to admit, she's really close to losing me because the development of the recurring (very interesting) characters and figuring out the perpetrator are no longer the focus of her books -- and I miss that a lot.”
