I have eclectic reading tastes ranging from science fiction to murder mysteries to non-fiction books on most subjects. I am enjoying returning to reading after hiatus due to family, work and the reduced travelling time I had.
The books on my shelf are ones I have read since June 2007. If I have included an older book, it is because I remembered the plot and the story well enough to comment, to rate it and it is on my personal library shelves.
The books in my reading list are those that I am currently reading - yes it is usually quite a lot at anyone time and yes I do keep them all straight in my mind.
My wish list is used to keep track of the books I would like to add to my personal library, hint to family, these would make great gifts.
I also have a number of private groups that I am tracking things I would like to read in the future, these are broken up into broad subject areas, I will be opening up the shelves of these. I will also be setting up a shelfari listing for my son and my daughter so that we can track everything they read as they grow up.
It is my hope in the future to set up three (3) groups, 1 for Mem Fox a Brilliant Australian Children's author and advocate for reading to children, 1 for Anne Bishop in my opinion a brilliant fantasy author and the reason I returned to reading fantasy and the third for Australian Children's Books and the Australian Children's Book Awards.
