“The best book i've read in 2012. I was caught up in the mystery and magic and writing of this book it is simply amazing. It reminds me a bit of The Prestige or perhaps its simply drew me in with the awe of the circus and the numerous plot lines that spin together so well. It would make a lovely movie with all the visualization. I just like circus books like this.
Tells the story of Celia a magician ( the illusionist within the Night Circus ) who grew up practicing her magic by repairing her brocken bones when her father broke her fingers numerous times in succession and her rebel and lover Marco who is also a magician who was an orphan and grew up studying books and who works for the crater of the Midnight circus. The story is also told from Bailey's POV a farm boy who wants to attend Harvard but who's parents want him to remain on the farm. He meets two red haired twins Poppet and Widget who were born on the circuses opening night and who process the powers to see the past (Widget) and future (Poppet) I can't recall the twins real names as they are only mentioned once or twice and their nicknames seem to fit them nicely. ”
