OOO! I hate it when people do that! My 6th grade teacher would bend the front cover back and...blah! I hate it! Did you know that blah is in the dictionary? Or, I think it is. Well it's on my little online dictionary. I'm a horrible speller. I hate it when people dog ear YOUR books! Come on people!tata!loco
I love your picture!
I've heard Year of Wonders is excellent. I'm putting it on my list to read. Thanks!
Hi:) I understand...just finished the last Harry Potter book myself...that's what took me so long to respond! No, I haven't gotten to read Twlight yet...I plan to soon, though. Sounds really good. Edward sounds like someone I'll like... alot:)My family is full of readers...my mom and I read most of the same books and discuss them. My sister is a big reader as well...though we don't really share the same taste in books...Thanks...I need all the luck I can get on finishing my novel! It's been in the works for about two years...!
How do you like the Jodi Picoult book? I'm really interested in her work, but haven't gotten any of her books yet.
You have a great shelf! My favorite novel is To Kill a Mockingbird also!
Hello, and thank you for your kind remark about my DH review. If you're interested, I've written an essay on Snape as well, which I've put on my LJ (ID same as here, but with a lower case t.)As to my preferred literary movement, it has to be a tie between Classical and modern, though I do appreciate certain writers of the Romantic era - Dickens and George Eliot, mainly.I used to play the Clarinet and the classical guitar, and in my youth was trained in Bel Canto - a very long time ago, alas!Give your Himalayan a stroke and a scritch under the chin from me!Panda
A teen drama full of vampires? Sign me up! Now I recall where I heard of the series before. A young, aspiring poet I was talking with some time back via chat was reading one of the books. She also wrote a little fiction too. Sent me a couple pieces, but they all turned out to be rather dramatic, teen romance kinds of pieces that never felt like complete or even finished pieces. But when is a piece of writing ever finished? Even published books often get republished with changes from authors. I do like vampires, though.
Over in the India group we are now discussing what book to do for the September group read. We'll source and read the book in August and begin discussing 1 Sept. Please weigh in on the discussion!
Thanks for adding me as a friend. I haven't read the Twilight series, but I've heard it mentioned before. Am I missing out on something great?
Hello Miss Placed, thank you for inviting me as a friend. I'm not fond of Byronic heroes though - in fact, the Romantic period as a whole leaves me cold, but I'll read anything rather than do without a bok for more than an hour!
Hi MissPlaced,Thanks for the friend invite:) I'm glad I'm not the only one who thinks Dracula is awful! Reading your profile, I see you like Mr. Rochester...yes, tall, dark, brooding and mysterious...one of my faves! I'm definitely going to pick up Stephanie Meyer's books...I've heard good things about Twilight and am heading over to her website to read the first chapter!
