Hello! I'm Joi. I'm 20 years old, and in college currently. FYI my shelf is only from what I've read since 1/1/11.

I love reading, my nook, singing, having fun, traveling, cookies, Coach, musical theater, dresses with pockets, dancing in the rain, illegal activities, going on tiptoes to kiss someone, laughter, Harry Potter,... more »

I love pretty much anything Titanic, put that with some fashion history and a love triangle and there's no way it's not a 5-star read for me. Alcott did a great job of intertwining the real Titanic hearings with the few fictional characters in an extremely interesting way. You get many aspects of the aftermath of the Titanic not much thought about as well. From the politics of the hearings, to the survivors guilt or lack-thereof, as well as the journalists side of things.

Listened to the audio of this book, and what fun that was. For being a contemporary romance, it did a good job of keeping suspense, and a sense of unknowing about what is going on with Gordon. I think it also made a generally unlikable characters extremely likable.

A great Christmastime read. I really enjoyed the beginning when they were trading the notebook back and forth before meeting. Something about the thrill of not knowing, but the reassurance they aren't a creepy pedorapist. Slowed down a bit for me after they met, but an altogether fun, holiday read that made me smile in many ways.

I think I liked this book more than I should have. Hilarious short stories of the trials and tribulations of being young, drinking, and sleeping with various guys. Chelsea has gotten herself into situations that you only believe because they are too ridiculous to even make up---then shares them with a smile.

One of my favorite actresses. I love her work, and enjoyed the autobiography just as much.

I listened to the audio of this book, and I think that is the reason I didn't enjoy it was much as the other Janet Evonovich books I've read. The voices bothered me, and the only parts I held onto afterwards were Lula. The stand out character that always makes me laugh.

I listened to the audio of this book to and from work, and I think it actually made me look forward to work more. The audio was done marvelously, and what a hilarious book. It actually made me laugh out loud, and I felt Emma quite relatable. It's funny the things people lie about, and the book just tells it like it is. Enjoy people for their flaws, and what you think is a big horrible secret probably isn't.

2nd installment in the Boonsboro trilogy. Pretty predictable plot, but still an enjoyable light-hearted read. I still get confused by the ghost/paranormal aspect of the book and why it exists, but the characters are lovable and I often found myself 'rooting' for their relationship.

I shouldn't say I love the dystopian world created here, because apparently that's forbidden! No, I really enjoyed this as a read, and even more creating discussion questions for a group. Not only makes you relate to the characters, but value your own love and relationships more simply because they exist. Fast-paced plot that is always moving forward, interesting characters, in an interesting world made this a 5=star read for me.

I really was looking forward to this book after reading Wither. A bit more slow paced, with more horrible situations and questions unanswered throughout the entire plot. I think I like the side characters more than Rhine though, I constantly felt like I wanted to know more about the others like Lilac and Silas. I dystopian world and problems it causes is still very interesting and builds on itself to help to help the plot move. I'll probably read the last installment.
