I live in Trondheim with my one year old son and his father. I study history at NTNU, and will finish my master in spring 2011. I write micro history/cultural history about a stone masons diary, written in the early 20th century. My dad taught me how to read when I was three years old, and I have loved reading ever since. My grandmother used to work at a library, and my grandfather loves history, and I think they have affected my interests a lot. I don't have much time to read these days, with my son taking up most of my time. I also feel guilty if I read books that don't have anything to do with my master, but I try to read a bit between everything else. I mostly read classics, but also some newer books and a graphic novel now and then. I rarely read crime, but if I do, it has to be something classic, like Agatha Christie.
Like many other historystudents, I dream of writing history books, but I think that is something I must do in addition to a "normal job". The "normal job" will probably be teaching.
