I thought they were both good. I enjoyed them better than the 3rd one. However I still have a problem with the main 'bad guys' in these stories. They hardly show up at all, and you gotta be mad at them or afraid of them via second and third hand accounts of the other characters. Like Hallow, I felt like I hardly knew her, she shows up just twice in the book, very briefly, and we're supposed to be super scared and hate her? And then there was some lame explanation at the end as to why she chose Shreveport as her place to attack. I thought it just didn't fit comfortably. And then with Sweetie (I figured that one out almost right away) and Patrick Furnan...I just didn't feel them as bad guys at all.

Although my other gripe is with Sookie's love life. She's had TWO sex partners her entire life and she's supposedly the best sex both of them have ever had? I'm sorry....but no. Although I did read ahead and I know that Sookie's part faerie or something so that explains her attraction to vampires....she just can't be THAT GOOD. I dunno. That part of book 4 kinda snuck a little too close to the whole Twilight romanticizing area of the genre.

I got the last four books and the collection of short stories on the way to me from other libraries in the area. So I should be getting them tomorrow or Monday. Then I'll burn through them and start on BDB as soon as I'm done, I swear! I can't wait to start that series but I just want to get Sookie out of the way first.

I gots a thing for werewolves more than I do for vampires, so I'm gunna be an Alcide fan until he does something jerky.

I agree with you on Bill. But I know that Bill only sought out Sookie in the first place because the Queen told him to, and then Eric became interested, so Bill has never really liked or loved Sookie out of his own initiative. I just don't want to see Sookie get hurt! But I know it's going to happen! Booo!

Yay bookclub! More of our friends need to read so it's not just us being silly girls over fake people!

Yeah, Bill in the series is too southern gentlemanly...it does bug me. They haven't even started filming season 3 I think! They just cast Alcide today! I wonder if there's gunna be the cheating betrayal in the series...cuz Bill totally asked Sookie to marry her in the series. He just can't cheat. He CAN'T!

Yeah I like that Sookie stays being a strong female character and isn't like "Omggg I need my men to take care of everything for me!" But she's also not like super bull dykeishly "I HATE MEN" either. She's got a nice balance. I don't like Debbie at all, which is why I kinda like Alcide because he still sees something in her despite her being a superbitch.

I wonder if they're gunna add Bubba in season 3...he seems kinda integral to the plot at this point.

I liked it except that I really hate Bill now for cheating on Sookie. And I think if I didn't see True Blood first with them having introduced Lorena in a different way, I wouldn't have hated her as much. I'd kinda be like "WTF Crazy vampire we're supposed to hate yet have never seen or heard of before?" Also I'm pissed at Bill for being a jerk but SO TOTALLY want to see a Sookie/Alcide relationship. She needs to get away from those creepy night vampires and have a fun fuzzy werewolf boyfriend.

As for the plot itself, it was kinda like...eh? It seemed a lot longer than it needed to be. The whole deal at the end when they were in the convenience store kinda seemed pointless. I'm slightly disappointed because I enjoyed the second book so much, I was hoping the third would keep the ball rolling. Oh well! On to the fourth soon enough!

Ohh lah dee dah, so I don't gotta wait for them to find the books! Yay!

The Clinton Library people hate me. I got a DVD out about a year ago, and my brother lost it. Eventually he found it and returned it, and paid the $10 late fee. But then later on the library was like "You never paid the fee!" And they wanted ANOTHER $10 from me. So I called up and bitched and eventually they dropped the ridiculous charge, but ever since then I get super mean looks from all the crazy librarian ladies whenever I check out. There must be a note on my account that's all like "SHE'S A $*(#@, give her dark scowls." So the less face time I need to have with the librarians there, the better.

Yeah I think I'm gunna like book 3. I've read synopses of most of the books and book 3 seems the most interesting. I'm reading as fast as I can!

I'm about halfway thru the first book so far. It's interesting! I don't really like books that are narrated in the first person, but I can get around that. Also since I saw the show first and now I'm reading the book it's interesting to see how different it is. So far Sookie is a lot more "childish" that she was portrayed in the show, with the way she makes faces and stuff at people.

I added all the books I could think I own to my "I've read" part. And the authors that I saw the last time I went to the bookstore I added so I could remember them. =)
