1 of 15 children. Write SF/Fantasy. Old as the hills. Native American = I was born here. I prefer to use their real names -- Navajo, Iroquois, Snoqualmi, Hopi, Apache, etc.--when I want to designate one of the People, Life is a puzzle, and I've lost half the pieces. If anyone finds them, wash them thoroughly before returning... more »

Well Mr. Mincartaugh; you're not Tom Hanks, but I saw your comment about Wiki. on a discussion about the author of "Rainhut" Robert A... I think that I will see if I can draw some interest on the page about my books.

I love Stepanie Plum novels. It is light reading and funny she gets into messes and her amily is filled with characters. It is a fun read. Three for the money is worth the time if you want fun

Re: your question on Walden, I am trying to read it as we speak, but it's not easy going...I have seen programs about it and found them fascinating. I have heard readings from it and enjoyed them...But the style is rather...dense and meandering...I am determined to get through it, but I do find myself skipping bits...

Thanks for the advice. I picked up The Color of Magic the other day, but I don't think I'm going to get around to it for a little while. Still, it looks like a lot of fun, and I'll keep in mind that he isn't himself yet. I might go with The Weird Sisters next if I like it.

This is a real-life book club that we've had for about 8 years. We just started using this site to post suggestions for books that we'd like to consider for reading in the future. It also gives us a forum for members who have to miss a meeting to participate.

So, which nation are you? Have you read the novels by Tony Hillerman, mysteries set on the Navajo reservation in the 4 Corners Area (Utah, Arizona, New Mexico, Colorado). I find them fascinating. The leading characters are police of the Navajo Nation.

Good feedback on Wikipedia. Thanks. I actually asked the reader to remove the article for that reason. All this is interesting to me as I'm working on a new community website with a group of famous (notable) developers. The site is called iAct. It's a killer app and includes great features writers and readers along with 30 other categories.

A reader published an article about Rainhut (my book) on Wikipedia. He said it was immediately nominated for deletion and asked for my help. Who decides this? Help stir things up on Wikipedia for new writers. www.wikipedia.com

Regarding your "Lesser Known SF Writers" post on Rebecca Ore--she's a friend of mine, and she's not black. You sure you weren't referring to Octavia Butler?
