I'm a 33 y.o. single-mother who works full-time, run my photography business on the side (www.kampstudios.net), and attends to my duties as Mom full-time. Where do I find the time to read? In my many hours late at night while fighting insomnia. I've learned to just give in, read a wonderful book, and wait until my exhaustion exceeds my ability to understand the words on the pages.
I'm a fanatical book lover and read everything from children's novels to the highly erotic. Fiction to encyclopdias. I do not discriminate and will read any recommendations made to me all for a good story, how-to, general interest, what have you. However, I must admit I am a reticent non-fiction reader. The book has to captivate my attention or it becomes a torturous read for me. ;)
I openly admit that I am lackluster at best with maintaining updates on forums, so I apologize in advance. And offer the advice to please not take offense if I am tardy (to the extreme) in not replying to messages and/or posts. I binge on writing and update, communicating, etc. then I can appear to drop off the face of the Earth for months at a time. Just go with it...I do - and you've been forewarned. ;p
Being a Mom has my sole priority - until my son goes to bed. It is then that I work on my photography post-production work, catch-ups with family and friends, and reading, writing or genealogical research. I am seriously focusing on a YA Fantasy series I've been working on haphazardly for a few years. Time for me to hone my imagination and creativity into my writing, since for the time being, my photography skills are currently where I like them to be.
I like to think of myself as fun-loving and carefree, but I know I am more prone to a serious nature - except with my son, who I am absolutely zany and goofy with - the epitome of insanity! ;p Awe, but we can have fun - not always, but often enough that he LOVES me, and I LOVE and ADORE him to boundless infinity!
That's me basically in a nutshell for the present. I look forward to possible discussions on books of similar interest.
La!
