Author of the sizzling novels THE GREAT PRETENDER and THE GREAT BETRAYAL

But I'm also an AVID reader. I've still got tons of books to add (and sort), but I love Shelfari's new redesign and all the features they've added - it makes organizing the bookshelf virtually seamless. I'll try to keep it updated. :-)

I hope you will enjoy The Spontaneous Healing of Belief as much as I did. This book helped me let go of a lot of beliefs that were not my own. It had the affect of unburdening me.

In a moment of pique and frustration Virginia wrote an open letter to Oprah, and shared it with a few writer friends who are going through the same thing we are. Now the letter has started to go viral--getting a lot of repostings and inclusions in blogs, newsletters and on Facebook, so in case you hadn't seen it, we wanted to share our plight, the plight of many black authors with you, readers who have supported us all these years. http://twomindsfull.blogspot.com.

In reality Oprah is just a metaphor--a name that might get this subject the attention it deserves. Because when you have a publication like Library Journal listing their 31 Best Books of 2009 http://ow.ly/HDU7 and the "genre" fiction list includes Street Lit --8 books but no category for contemporary African American writers, we are really in trouble.

We are trying to encourage diversity in reading--we believe books should be windows, not just mirrors...

Hi! I am dropping your book in the mail in the morning. I don't read too many self help books personally, but my husband picked this one up because he thought it sounded like something he would enjoy reading, and when he finished it, he asked me to look through it. It's pretty good, easy to read, follow, and makes perfect sense. I notice, like my husband you have more than a few of these types of books on your shelf. I think you will find it interesting. I have been flipping through your shelf, and notice that we enjoy many of the same authors and types of books. You have many books and authors I haven't tried yet. I love finding new books and authors, so I will have fun searching through yours to find some I would enjoy! Thanks for requesting my friendship! :-)

Hi. Just stopping by to say hi. Still looking for your books at my library and even though it says they have them can't find them. Maybe they'll just pop up one day on the shelf.

I thought this new web site might be of interest to you. It's a new site that just got started where authors and readers can chit chat and where readers can find out about new books. Stop by and check it out: http://bookeventcenter.ning.com (I try to go to the chat there on Tuesdays around 7:30 p.m. Eastern Time.)

Hi Millenia, I think I did read Blood Sisters too; if it's not on my shelf it should be and I will add it. It's been a while so I probably read and I can't remember.

Thanks for the recommendations. I am going to see if the library has one or both of these books. You have been a big help, and I appreciate it. I am sorry, but I have forgotten which books you wrote; would you tell me the titles again, please? Thanks again, and have a great day.

Hi M Black, I hope you're having a great day! I am reading a book called "Mountain Top" by Robert Whittlow right now. I am running out of books, and I dug this one out of my shelf out of desperation. I still haven't decided if I like it or not, but I am still reading. I wanted to tell you that I read most all of Sidney Sheldon's books years ago, and I did really like them. Maybe I should start over with them; I have probably forgotten most of them anyhow. Thanks for the recommendation.

HI MBlack, I am waiting to get the book "The Alchemist" from the libray. I assume you enjoyed it. What other good books have you read? I am looking at some back surgery, and a long period of recovery, so I need some really good books. Happy reading!

Hello back from Orlando. I checked out your two sites. Great job! Interesting books. How long have you been writing? I've been writing for six years and average 2.25 books per year. It's a hobby for me, but I do love the fan mail I receive. It's nice to share the movies of my mind. I need a break from Orlando traffic sometimes. I work on my next movie in my head when I'm waiting to move in the unending bottlenecks of Orlando traffic.
